The magical Jenolan Caves are located just west of the Blue Mountains, NSW Australia. The area contains the oldest currently dated open limestone cave system in the world - over 340 million years in the making! Guided tours of these caves run every day of the year from 9.30 - 5.30, and there is a daily Adventure Tour! Jenolan, known for thousands of years by the Gundungarra and Wiradjuri peoples, was first visited by European explorers in the 1830s. The Reserve was declared and tours officially began in 1866, making the site amongst the earliest protected in the world, and Australia's first genuine tourist destination.
